It’s Wednesday again and time for me to tell you what I’m up to. Thanks again to Jamie and Erin for starting this and to all of you who’ve commented and made me feel welcome. I didn’t do a post last week, so this one might be a little long.
What I’m Reading
I finished The Witch With No Name and I was very happy with it. It told me pretty much everything I wanted to know and was still very action packed for a last novel in a series.
I’ve started reading Shifting Shadows by Patricia Briggs and it makes me want a new Mercy book badly. Sadly there won’t be one until next year! Ugh. Traditional publishing sucks. At least there is a new Alpha and Omega book coming out soon.
What I’m Writing
I’ve had a rough time of if the last couple of weeks again, but I finally started something else. It’s based around the Norse goddess Freyja/Freya and Friday the thirteenth. I’ve gotten a few hundred words in and I’m starting to get a feel for where this story is going to go. I’m going to try to make myself work more this week and maybe decide how long this one is going to be. I struggle with wanting to make everything a novel and this one is no different. I think I may be able to wrap it up in a couple thousand words and just leave the possibility for continuing it if I want.
What Works for Me
This week I decided to finally get together with a writing buddy and talk about writing. I’m going to try to use him as an accountability partner. I can’t do much with artificial deadlines, so I’m using him to help me feel like I have a real one. It seems to be working pretty well so far. I just need to make sure we check in regularly with each other or this will go out the window too.
What Else is New
My bowling ball came in last Thursday! I just got it drilled today, so that I can try it out at the league tomorrow night. I can’t wait! I hope I can get it under control and at least hit my average this week. I also bought Bayonetta 2 for my Wii U and since it came with Bayonetta 1 I’m working my way through that first. It’s a lot of ridiculous fun, even if I do have to turn of my feminist brain sometimes when playing it.
What’s new you all of you?
