Robert McKay is an aspiring author, just trying to make his way through a world that, until recently wasn't very friendly to the geek. He never had any geeky friends growing up and in general had to push aside his geekiness for the sake of having any friends at all. In college he met a small group of geeks that showed him there is a community out there that he belongs to. Now through the wondrous world of the internet and with the encouragement of his wonderful wife, Faith, he has begun to truly embrace that culture.

While he revels in all things geeky his heart truly lies in the world of fantasy. He began eagerly devouring the works of Terry Brooks' Shannara Series at the tender age of 9 and has been a fantasy addict ever since. For him there is no joy greater than opening a book and falling into a whole new world (even if that world is still our own).

Given his intense love for the genre it was only natural that he would want to write it himself and be able to bring that joy to others. Unfortunately, life has a tendency to get in the way of your dreams if you let it. Robert let life get in the way of his dreams for 20 years, but that has finally come to an end.

In mid 2009 he quit his job in the cellular phone industry and a short time later decided there was no time like the present to begin work on his first fantasy novel. This website will be a place for him to talk about his experience entering the world of authorship and anything else that inspires and amuses him along the way.
